I have recently graduated with a PhD from the School of Education, University of Birmingham. My qualitative research study explored the lived experiences of eight disabled teachers. Along with Bronfenbrenner’s bioecological systems theory to understand the developmental experiences of my participants, I also applied WHO’s ICF framework to identify enablers and barriers encountered by my participants in their journey to become teachers. My research study aims to explore the narratives of disabled teachers, highlighting the role their life experiences have had on their choice of profession. I’m an alumnus of University of Mumbai; I began my career as a Mathematics and Science teacher progressing to become a teacher educator. My research interests include Teacher Education, Race and Education, Inclusive Education and Disability. This website is to share my research experiences.
I am the proud mother of a nineteen year old daughter. I am an avid reader, I love to cook. I am an experimental baker. I love Bollywood movies. Binge watching cooking shows, thrillers and crime series are my de-stressers.
